The Harano Family Papers contain tickets and programs related to dances, benefits and events held in Chicago and sponsored by Japanese American organizations (ca. 1958-1965). The collection also contains items such as material related to the Kenwood Ellis Community Center (1949, 1956, 1960), a group photograph of scholarship dinner (1961), clippings related to Japanese American beauty queens and publications.

Scope and Contents The Hiroshi Mayeda Photograph Collection contains photographs of Hiroshi Mayeda and Chiyeko “Sue” Sasaki - Mayeda’s future wife. The couple met during their incarceration at Jerome Relocation Center during World War II and kept in touch while moving to different internment camps and during Mayeda’s military service.
